We Forget to Smell the Flowers.

We Forget to Smell the Flowers.

We are infinite.

We can run and walk and jump and do amazing things with our bodies.

We have mouths to speak our mind and hands to deliver actions.

We can laugh, cry, yell, and whisper.

We have eyes to see the beautiful things, and also the bad.

We are us. No one else is us. Because we are only one.

We have purpose, we have talents.

We are different because diversity is what makes the world go round.

We are humans.

Living an amazing life.

We are given all of these things so that we can do anything.

Amazing things.

Do things we're afraid of, or try something new.

Change the world, stand up for ourselves.

Be a leader, be a role model.

But, what do we do instead?

Have we forgotten what lifes about?

We spend our time thinking about what's up ahead and we forget to live in the moment.

We spend hours looking down on our phone until the sun goes down, missing the sunset.

We sleep in until noon when the sun is high in the sky, missing the sunrise.

We walk fast down the street to get to our destination but forget to stop and smell the flowers.

We walk down the hallway in a rush and forget to look for the people who are longing for someone to just...smile at them.

We make lists of things to do and set alarms on our phone and dread the days we know we will be busy, and we forget that being busy is such a blessing.

We hide in our rooms late at night staring at computer screens, forgetting that outside your window is a beauitful scene with millions of lights of different colors and billions of stars in the sky.

We spend our time watching perfect people do perfect things on TV, and then stand in front of mirrors picturing a possible better version of ourselves.

We go shopping, not to impress ourselves, but to look like a million bucks for everyone in your town, forgeting that some people haven't had the money to get one new peice of clothing all year.

We want to blend in and be like everyone else, but nothing's more beautiful than someone walking to their own play-list in a world where everyone listens to the "popuar" genre.

We are human. I know.

We get one life. One first time for everything. And one last time for everything.

Yeah, I know. We are sick of people saying... "last school dance" or "last High School football game"

But they are right. These are our last days. We are counting down.

We will be out in a world where followers and likes on pictures aren't worth crap.

We will be watching the News months after we graduate and see that someone you remember from school committed suicide because they felt useless and invisible.

We will one day walk down the street with our children, and watch them smell the flowers.

They will wake up at the crack of dawn, wanting to get their day started, not wanting to waste a minute of their life.

We will meet someone we fall in love with and they will remind us of how beautiful life is.

We will do so many things furthur down the road in life that we wish we would of done now, in these days.

We are infinte, but we limit ourselves, and I don't think we are meaning too.

Slow down, take a breath..... look around.

When we are old, we will want to tell stories... on how we changed someone's life, or when we did something scary, or conqured one of our fears, or got to live our dream.

Our greatest achievment during our teenage years shouldn't be reaching 5,000 followers on insta-gram.

Our greatest achievment should be being able to say that we lived.

We are living. but let's start living now.
